FAQ

  • When do I ship my flowers?

Bouquets and any extra flowers need to be in the mail ASAP. Preferably 48 hours, and no later than 72 hours, after your event. Flowers preserve best when they are still fresh and full of life.

Never put your bouquet in the refrigerator.

Keep your flowers in water, away from sun or vents, until ready to ship.

I am not responsible for dead or spoiled flowers from waiting too long to ship the bouquet.

  • Do I pay for shipping my flowers?

Yes. The cost of shipping the bouquet and any extra flowers to James & Ivy is your responsibility.

  • How do I ship my flowers?

Soak 2-5 pieces of newspaper, paper towels or tissue paper and wrap the soaked paper around the base of the stems.

Cover the wrapped stems with plastic bag or plastic wrap. Avoid the leaves and flowers.

Use a smaller box to make a ‘vase’ within your shipping box. Place the bouquet in the ‘vase’ so that it can stand on its own.

Wrap the top of the bouquet in tissue paper, white, to avoid color staining the flowers.

Place the ‘vase’ in the shipping box and secure it in place by filling the box with packing peanuts, (newspaper, tissue paper or plain paper can be substituted). DO NOT use bubble wrap. Plastic will steam the flowers and cause them to wilt. Packing peanuts are perfect. (I reuse packing peanuts to ship out orders).

Go to your trusted shipping provider and ship the fastest method you can afford. We have received bouquets from all major shipping providers with about the same care to the packages.

Pack in a box close in size to the bouquet for less movement when shipping. No need to spend more money shipping a larger box.

  • What happens after I ship my flowers?

Please email James & Ivy at orders@jamesandivy.com to let us know your flowers have been shipped.

Once we receive your flowers we will contact you and let you know they have arrived safely.

  • How does the design process work?

Once the flowers are received the drying process begins, then the design phase followed by creation and then the final stage which is waiting for the product to cure.

  • How long will it take to create my custom art piece?

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

  • When will I receive my custom piece(s)?

Custom floral preservation takes approximately 3-5 months depending on the time or year. You will be given a timeframe once you reserve your date.

  • When do I pay for my custom piece(s)?

A deposit of $200 is due up front and then the remaining balance is due at the time of flowers being shipped to James & Ivy.
